About CO2 Stored

CO2 Stored is the UK CO2 Storage Evaluation Database, hosted and developed by the British Geological Survey (BGS) .

The original data in CO2 Stored was developed by the UK Storage Appraisal Project (UKSAP), which was commissioned and funded by the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) . CO2 was hosted and developed by the British Geological Survey and The Crown Estate between 2013 and 2018.

CO2 Stored provides an overview of CO2 storage data for over 500 potential CO2 storage sites around offshore UK.

Between 2013 and 2018, The Crown Estate and The British Geological Survey developed and updated CO2 Stored improving the data and functionality of the original database according to the needs of the sector. From March 2018, management, update and development of CO2 Stored was transferred to BGS who host the site.
